DOK 2
The Israelites were a small group of people that believed in God. They came from Mesopotamia, and then later settled in Canaan. They had to go to Egypt, but when they went to Egypt they became enslaved. The pharaoh wanted them to build the pyramids for him. The Israelite baby boys were thrown into the river, but Moses was put in a basket and rescued by the pharaohs daughter. Later on Moses was trying to rescue the Israelites because God had talked to him on Mount Sinai. God sent 10 plagues against the Egyptians and on the the 10th plague the 1st born son was to be killed. With that the Israelites were set free from Egypt. They disobeyed God and did not get to go into the promised land straight away, but they got to go after 40 years. When Jacob died they looked up to the judges, Barack, Gideon, Samuel, Eli, Samson, and Deborah, for leadership. The Phoenicians created the alphabet which does the same thing ours does.
DOK 3
- One of the things that the Israelites could have done differently on the journey to The promised land is listen and follow instead of do what they want to do. They should never have complained about the little things. Numbers 11:1-3. Trust God and relax. Be grateful and there trip might have been faster. Being grateful, happy, and not complaining about everything they probably would have made the journey faster, a less stressful for moses.
