How did Jews react to Roman rule?
The Jews argued about what to do about the Romans. Some favored working with the Romans. Others opposed to Roman rule by closely following Jewish traditions. Still others turned their backs on the Romans. They settled in isolated areas and shared their belongings.
Were Jewish Rebels successful?
Some Jews believe that they should fight the Romans and take back control of their kingdom. These people called zealots convinced many Jews to take up arms against the romans in 66AD. The romans destroyed the temple and killed thousands of Jews. In their scattered communities, the jews kept their faith alive by studying and following their religious laws.
What happened during the Life of Jesus?
During Roman times, many jews hoped that God would send a freedom or deliverer. Jews expected messiah to be a great king like David. A few decades before the first jewish revolt against Rome, a jew named Jesus left his home in nazareth and began preaching. Crowds gathered to hear I'm preach. He soon assembled a small band of 12 close followers called disciples.
What did Jesus Teach?
According to the christian Bible, Jesus preached that God was coming soon to rule the world. He urged people to turn from there sins. A relationship with God is more important that following Jewish laws. To make his point come across he used parables which were stories that used events from everyday life to express spiritual ideas.
What was the Crucifixion?
Romans put nails in Jesus's feet and hands and thornes in his head and left him there to die and later put him in a tomb.
Who Were Peter & Paul?
Apostles, or early Christian readers who helped set up churches and spread the message of Jesus, played an important role in the growth of christianity
What do Christians Believe?
Christians believe that God sent his son Jesus to die on the cross to save our sins and he stayed there for 3 days and on the 3 day early in the morning he rose with all power. Which is why people celebrate Easter.
