1.) Who Are The Bedouin?
Some Arabs were nomadic desert herders. To water and graze their camels, goats, and sheep, they went from oasis to oasis. They were called Bedouin. Bedouins lived in tents and ate dried fruits and nuts and they drank the mild from their animals.
2.) What Was Muhammad's Message?
He said he was visited by an angel and was told to preach Islam. Islam means, "Surrendering to the will of Allah". Allah is the arabic word for "God".
3.) Why Was Islam Not Liked At First?
Wealthy merchants and religious did not like Muhammad's message. They thought he was trying to take away their money. They made his life difficult and beat and tortured his followers.
4.) What Does Islam Teach?
The Quran tell how Muslims should live. Muslims are told to be honest and treat others fairly. They are told to honor their parents, show kindness to their neighbors, give generously to the poor. Murder, lying, and stealing are forbidden. Muslims should not eat pork, drink liquor or gamble. The Quran also had rules about marriage, divorce, and family life, property rights, and business practices.
5.) What Is The Quran?
Muslims write down the message that Muhammad said he received from Allah. These writing became the Quran, or Holy Book of Islam. For Muslims the Quran is god's written word.
6.) What Are The 5 Pillars Of Islam & Sunna?
1. Belief- Muslims must declare that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is his prophet.
2. Prayer- Muslims must play 5 times a day facing Mecca or the East.
3. Alms- Muslims must give to the poor.
4. Fast- Muslims must not eat from dusk to dawn during the month of Ramadan.
5. Hajj- Muslims must visit Mecca once in their life if they can.
With the combination of the Quran and Sunna guides all muslims daily life.
